Allegro Music is expanding our current camp offerings with some really unique experiences. This year we have Rock Band Camp and Ukulele. Maybe more camps after we have a firm moving date.
At this fun camp, you can learn your favorite rock songs and play them with other musicians! Rock Band Camp will give you experience working in a band format.

Chris Carter
Chris is a fun, exciting young teacher with plenty of experience. He teaches primarily at Allegro Music, where he helps people of all ages learn their favorite rock and roll riffs. He knows how to jam, too; he has years of band experience, including the now-defunct Natural Geometry (check them out here). Of course, he’s also a great teacher for music theory and has a great guitar technique. If you want to take your guitar to the next level, Chris is the teacher for you!
Rick Henson
I’ve been drumming up business *bah-dum-bump-ching!* in the Front Range region since 1993, performing with symphonic orchestras, theater productions, and, of course, rock bands. This breadth of percussive experience — including studies at the University of Northern Colorado — created the backdrop for discovering my greatest passion: steel drums. My steel drum school, Rocky Mountain Steel Bands, has grown to include four community performance groups and several beginner/intermediate classes.
I also direct two professional bands — Strings & Steel and Urban Island — which have appeared at festivals, headline concerts, and private events throughout 5 states in the U.S. and in Costa Rica. I’m also on the Vic Firth Education Team and SABIAN Education Network.
My students learn the important fundamentals to perform songs they love in a friendly and relaxed environment. Many of my current students have been learning from me for several years, and the consistent feedback is that my lessons are fun and engaging. I actively seek innovative methods for sharing my love of music. What excites me the most is that moment of triumph I witness when a student masters some new, difficult technique!
This is the highlight of the summer for many kids. We spend 4 days learning music finish the week with a fun performance at Pirates Cove.
No experience necessary! We divide into several groups for most of the week based on age and ability so everyone is in a group that’s just right.
All instruments are provided for use during the camp week.
